New Horizon Community Solutions is a Virginia-based housing organization dedicated to providing safe, affordable shared housing for independent adults age 62 and older. Our homes are designed for older adults seeking stable, affordable housing in a welcoming community, including veterans and individuals reentering the community after incarceration. Our mission is rooted in dignity, independence, safety, affordability, and community. We are not an assisted living facility, nursing home, or medical provider. Instead, we offer shared housing for individuals who are able to live independently while enjoying the benefits of a respectful, supportive residential environment.

We work with hospitals, healthcare providers, social workers, veteran organizations, reentry programs, faith-based organizations, families, and other referral partners to connect older adults with safe, affordable housing opportunities. Our shared housing model is designed for individuals who are able to live independently in a shared residential setting. Residents are expected to manage their own daily living activities, personal healthcare needs, and medications, while respecting community guidelines and the rights of fellow residents. Each applicant is evaluated through an individualized screening process to determine whether our housing is an appropriate fit for their needs. As New Horizon Community Solutions grows, our goal is to expand access to safe, stable, and affordable housing across Virginia, helping more older adults find welcoming communities where they can live with dignity, independence, and respect.
